Tip 68: Speed is a skill. Fail to understand this key principle and you have already lost.
Tip 69: For some reason it is a popular belief that you are born with a certain amount of 'speed' and you can't improve it. Nothing could be further from the truth. Anyone can learn to swim fast over short distances - you do not need to be a sprinter in order to become a sprinter.
Tip 70: Don't wait for the swimming world to catch up - find out all you can about how track sprinters train and how they run their races. Learn all you can from them: they provide us with a rich source of knowledge and experience.
