General Training Tips nos 8-13

Tip 8: Successful swimming is not an accident. It comes from desire, understanding, and application.

Tip 9: "The first thing is to love your sport. Never do it to please someone else. It has to be yours." (Peggy Fleming, ice-skating legend)

Tip 10: Although a coach can provide you with feedback, the most important single source of feedback is you.

Tip 11: The three most important things you can concentrate on to improve your swimming in the long term are: technique... technique... and technique!

Tip 12: Don't leave your brain in the changing room with your clothes - successful swimming takes focus and concentration in large amounts.

Tip 13: Spend your training time practicing the right thing. Practicing a flawed technique will simply make it harder to correct it in the future.
